Year End Lab Workshop
The year end lab workshop was held in Jeonju. In the workshop, we looked back what we did in this year and looked ahead what we are going to do in the next year.
Achievement 1.
ACE-Molecule, our in-house quantum chemistry package as a result of long-term project, has been installed in the brand-new supercomputer in KISTI and will be available in public soon. In addition, we opened a webpage of the package to guide users and developers: https://gitlab.com/aceteam.kaist/ACE-Molecule.
Achievement 2.
ACE-Reaction, our in-house software for automated search for reaction pathways, has been implemented in ADF, a well-known commercial package and is now availabe in the newly released one as a developer version. We started to improve it by incorporating state-of-the art deep learning methods.
Achievement 3.
Our new project on drug discovery using deep learning has been successfully settled down. The first symposium of AI-based drug discovery in Korea we prepared in August was very successful with great attention. New fruitful collaboration with Kakao Brain has been initiated.
Achievement 4.
Dr. Yeonjoon Kim, a key developer of ACE-Reaction, got married after completing his doctorate this year and started his new career in NREL (USA) as a postdoc. Mr. Jaewook Kim, who got married to a writer, and Ms. Zeehyo Kim successfully completed the Ph.D. and MS courses, respectively.
Afterall, two wonderfull graduate students, Hyunsu Kim and Kyung Hoon Lee, and a new postdoc, Seung Hwan Hong, joined ACE team as new members.
